Apply to Kent State University today!

Your future at Kent State starts with a simple application. Each year we search for students with diverse backgrounds, experiences and perspectives to challenge and support each other on our campus. Kent State takes a holistic approach to the application review process. We review each applicant based on several factors, including classroom performance in core academic courses, strength of high school curriculum and cumulative GPA. While admission is selective, each applicant will be considered on an individual basis.

  • Submit an online application using the Kent State application or the Common Application.

  • Pay the $50 application fee or request a fee waiver.
  • Submit your most recent high school transcript to Kent State University.
  • SAT and ACT scores are not required for first-year students applying for fall 2021. You can indicate on your application if you would like us to consider test scores when reviewing your application.

When to apply

  • Application for fall semester opens Aug. 1.
  • Applications completed by Nov. 1 receive priority admissions consideration and automatic scholarship review by Nov. 30.
  • Applications completed by Feb. 1 receive full admission consideration and automatic scholarship review by Feb. 28.
  • After Feb. 1, fall admission and scholarship consideration are offered on a space-available basis.
